Rosemont Revenue Sharing Program

West Central Municipal Conference

In 1995 and 1996, all municipalities (except Chicago and Elgin) located wholly or partially within Cook County were afforded the opportunity to participate in an "Agreement Concerning Distribution of Reveune Allocated to the Rosemont Gaming Tax Revenue Sharing Program" as entered into by and between the Village of Rosemont and the West Central Municipal Conference.  The Agreement calls for a distribution of a share of the gaming tax revenue collected by Rosemont from a casino located within the Village limits.  The invitation to participate in the Agreement was accepted by seventy (70) communities.

The Rosemont Gaming Tax Revenue Sharing Program allows municipalities which are located in Cook County to share in the municipal portion of the tax revenue that is expected to be generated by a casino located in Rosemont.  The Revenue Sharing Program would be administered by the WCMC pursuant to an agreement entered into between the WCMC and the Village of Rosemont.

Also, under the Revenue Sharing Program, the amount of revenue a municipality receives is calculated based on two factors.  Fifty percent of the total revenue available to be distributed under the program is distributed based on a general flat rate allocation.  The criteria used to allocate the other 50%, is based on the number of persons residing in the municipality who reside within Cook County as established by the most recent decennial census data.
