The West Central Municipal Conference is hosting a

Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Workshop.

Staff from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) will describe the grant application process for the 2012-2016 CMAQ Program and answer your questions.

The CMAQ program provides federal funds for surface transportation improvements designed to improve air quality and mitigate congestion.

Eligible CMAQ projects can include:

Transit Improvements

Commuter Parking Lots

Traffic Flow Improvements including:

Bottleneck Elimination

Intersection Improvements

Signal Interconnects

Bicycle and Pedestrian Facility Projects

Bicycle Parking Projects

Low-emission Engine and Fuel Technologies such as Diesel Retrofits

Rideshare Incentive Programs

Interoperable Emergency Communications Equipment

Programs to Reduce Cold Starts
